Hostile Environments
A boat is a most inhospitable home for all things electronic. Temperatures are usually uncontrolled and equipment is often exposed to direct solar radiation. Humidity can be high enough to cause condensation. Rain, sometimes buckets of it, even the occasional splash of fresh and salt water or maybe total immersion challenge the water resistance of equipment.
